My beef with blogging

I have a serious compulsion to be blogging. I have ideas for posts everywhere I am. Sometimes I even write them down! I use MarsEdit to do my posting (really only because I desperately need a spell check – and it makes it easy) and I have almost 10 ‘drafts’ saved which for me are just post titles and maybe a sentence of ideas I have.

So why haven’t I just gone through and posted them? Honestly, Its not because Im lazy – though you can call me lazy and I might argue with you for five minutes but if you keep going Id probably give up and sit my chunky ass back down. Really Its this weird pressure that goes along with posting. Im a 80% perfectionist. Everything has to be 80% perfect especially when it is being put in front of the public eye – even if it is only being read by 2 people. Thats my neurosis – and Im sure Im not alone.

But it kills me. Im always being so careful about what I write – is this too personal? – is this too mean? – and it drives me crazy. So thats a new month resolution I guess. To just post. Im sure once I get in the habit it will be alright.

What if you could post with out worrying about that? Throw your thoughts into cyberspace without worrying about rep or it biting you in the ass. Hmmm perhaps Greg and I have come up with a solution. Perhaps we will build it soon . . .
