NYC is rb

Though I’ve been on the mailing list for a while, I finally had the free Tuesday night to go to a meeting of the “NYC Ruby group (nyc.rb).”:http://www.nycruby.org I’m happy to report that it was a great experience and its obvious right off the bat that there are some really smart developers who haven’t been stolen away by THE VALLEY (all-caps as if its an evil monster that devours all the good programmers from around the world).

There was a nice recap of RubyConf which I unfortunately missed and Francis Hwang gave his presentation on tools for building API’s which had a healthy dose of meta-programming which got me really excited. I’m definitely going back, and look forward to being a more serious participant. Ruby + NYC = I’m there.
